This role exists to provide work direction and support for a team that directly interact with our North American external/Internal manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities require functional expertise in finance and accounting, Supply Chain strong customer relations and communication skills, and ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Shift Timing - 1.30 PM to 10.30 PM
Roles & Responsibilities
25% of Time Client Service Management
• Manage team that owns budgeting, analysis, and providing direction on day-to-day accounting operations for 200+ Manufacturing, ESC and Warehousing sites.
• Point of contact for Operations and Finance teams for all in-scope budget and accounting activities. Partner with SC Accounting team to provide insight into cost structures and confidence in processes
• Actively develop team to build best-in-class, trusted partnerships with Operations, Finance, SC Accounting, and External Partners
• Has end to end process knowledge
40% of Time Service Delivery
• Oversee month-end close activities to ensure accurate income statement and balance sheet reporting. Including: Approval of journal entries, correct application of accounting principles, review of usage & variances, and resolution of issues in a timely manner
• Oversee monthly budget analysis processes, while partnering with ESC and Warehouse business partners to clearly understand results and impact to future costs. Actively participate in monthly platform/network meetings and resolve all follow-ups within scope of responsibility
• Lead Spring Plan process for Fixed Warehouse budgets and ESC Site budgets in conjunction with related operational and finance teams. Ensure accuracy across all sites and provide summarized analysis of change and insight for each network
• Deliver on established service level targets and metrics
• Planning and execution of business continuity
• Create an environment of continuous improvement in order to simplify or automate work
• Responsible for compliance with General Mills policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Provides work direction and support to team; establishes daily priorities; monitors progress against team goals
• Work/Collaborate on Site wide initiatives
20% of Time Employee Development
• Building SMEs
• Performance Management for Team members( Objective setting, PA, Mid-year, IDP)
• Cross training to ensure adequate backup coverage for all activities at all times
• Recruit new team members as per requirement
15% of Time • Lead efforts to identify and pursue ongoing process improvements
• Embracing CI mindset & drive change in their processes
• Ensure accurate tracking and contributing to HMM ideas, value and implementation
Your Skills and experience
Your Experience and qualifications
Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters or Chartered Accountant
Preferred Major Area of Study: Finance & Accounting
Minimum years of related experience required: 5-7 years
Preferred years of related experience: 7-10 years
Having Supply Chain knowledge is preferred.
Customer service Mindset
Strong knowledge and expertise in accounting function and processes like general ledger, inventory management, and cost accounting
Organizational savvy – can effectively navigate the organization
Anticipates future customer needs and accelerates what is possible
Commitment to leadership and personal development
Working knowledge of SAP preferred
Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines
